Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to common questions about loopAB and how to use it effectively.
How do I loop a YouTube video?
Simply paste your YouTube URL into loopAB, then set your start and end points using the time sliders. Click the Loop button to repeat that section automatically. You can also adjust playback speed for practice sessions.
Is loopAB free to use?
Yes, loopAB is completely free with no limitations. You can loop unlimited videos without registration, payment, or login required.
Do I need to install software or download anything?
No, loopAB works entirely in your browser. No downloads, installations, or browser extensions required - just paste a YouTube URL and start looping.
Can I adjust the playback speed for guitar practice or language learning?
Yes! loopAB lets you slow down videos from 0.25x to 2x speed while looping. This is perfect for practicing guitar solos, learning music, studying language dialogues, or analyzing dance moves frame-by-frame.
Does loopAB work on mobile phones and tablets?
Yes, loopAB is fully responsive and works on all devices including smartphones and tablets. The interface automatically adapts to smaller screens for optimal mobile experience.
Can I share my loop with others?
Yes! When you set loop points, the URL automatically updates with your settings. Just copy the URL from your browser and share it with anyone. They will see the exact same loop settings you created, including start time, end time, and playback speed.
Why won't my video load?
Videos may fail to load if they're private, age-restricted, blocked in your region, or removed by YouTube. Make sure you're using a valid YouTube URL and the video is publicly accessible.
What are the Shift and Scale features?
Shift and Scale are advanced loop manipulation features that make practice more efficient. Shift (O/P keys) moves your entire loop forward or backward by its own length - perfect for practicing consecutive sections of a song. Scale ([ and ] keys) halves or doubles your loop length while keeping the center point fixed - great for gradually expanding or narrowing your practice area. These features set loopAB apart from other YouTube loopers.
What keyboard shortcuts are available?
loopAB supports many keyboard shortcuts: Space (Play/Pause), S (Set Start), E (Set End), R (Restart Loop), C (Clear Loop), O (Shift Back), P (Shift Forward), [ (Half Length), ] (Double Length), T (Start -0.1s), Y (Start +0.1s), U (End -0.1s), I (End +0.1s). These shortcuts help you control loops without touching your mouse.
How do I manage my saved loops?
Each saved loop card has two small buttons: a drag handle (⋮⋮) on the left to reorder by dragging, and an edit button (✏️) on the right. For loops in "Saved Loops for This Video", the edit menu offers Edit Title and Delete. For videos in "All Saved Loops", the edit menu offers Export Markdown (copies a formatted table to clipboard for Notion/Obsidian) and Delete.
